I was introduced to the original game in the Winter of 2015 and due to education and the workload, only got to experience it sparingly as I played it very casually throughout 2016 before they revamped for Legends in 2017. I can’t go back now despite the servers for the original game still being up due to the account that I was apparently used was a trial account, so Funcom doesn’t acknowledge it as a real account to allow access to the old game. So most of my experience with the story post midgame and endgame have came from 2017 and onwards. From what I’ve seen, experienced, I truly have missed out on a lot of the original game content that has sadly hit the cutting floor. Many endgame encounters and environments have been omitted for the final product. The flexibility of the weapons, the combat, the stat wheel, all changed or removed. I can see the dumbing down of the weapon system and the passive stat circle for a linear selection branch and a triangle with a dial to select between tanking, dps, and healing.
