About The Game
Exit the Gungeon is a small, arcade-style, spin-off ‘dungeon climber’ that immediately follows the adventures of the misfit Gungeoneers attempting to survive a series of increasingly dangerous elevators and countless waves of enemies. The Gungeon has become a paradox and is collapsing! Blessed by the magic of the Sorceress, your gun will change rapidly as you ascend the Gungeon. The better you play, and the higher your combo, the more powerful the form your gun will take. Battle against the last and most bitter of the Gundead at a frantic pace, slowing down just long enough to chat with some familiar faces… and a few new ones. Shifting rooms, enemies, bosses, bizarre weapons and items all combine to ensure that no two attempts to Exit the Gungeon are the same. The gameplay of this game is drastically different from enter the gungeon for the fact its on a 2 plane, opposed to isometric this makes dodging a lot harder, but they added jump rolls and drop rolls to compensate, even though i think at times, its just not enough for the clutter that can happen, but the actual gun fights and bosses themselves generally are fun, they have a nice progression and there’s less overly annoying bosses, even if some are easier than others, the balance is a lot better than gungeon boss wise.
Ost, sound design and visuals are all very clean looking, you can definitely tell its a step up from the first game in that regard, and the controls work nicely in the game Something else i was minorly disappointed with was the lack of original creative ideas, all the guns are mostly same as the first game, story feels bland, rushed and doesn’t have any depth, you just escape the gungeon and that’s about it, no past, no future story, no extra final boss (well there is one, but has nothing to do with the story and is franky, just thrown in there for no reason). Overall is the game bad? not really, its fun and has a lot to enjoy when you’re able to make runs shift in your favor, but at the same time a lot of confusing and weird design choices make this a weaker game than the first. Oh and good luck with the achievements, i finished the majority of the difficult ones 12 hours in and now ill probably have to grind the game for 12 more for 100%, woe is me. too, gungeon’s production value has never been bad and the same applies here.
Just an easier and less effort version of enter the gungeon. I almost beat the game on my first try, followed by beating the game on my second attempt. Doesn’t have the same difficulty and feel as the first. I haven’t played all that much of it but I’ve played enough to know it doesn’t live up the Enter the Gungeon. It’s not a bad game but it’s just not what I hoped for. Save your money and buy enter the gungeon instead Not a bad game just worse then the original in mostly everyway. The game is a ported mobile game making it shorter, more simple and easier. On the other hand the humour, wit and heart of the original is still here and paired with some of the best pixel art I have ever seen is the real reason you play exit the gungeon.
