A Memoir Blue is another really great interactive story from Annapurna and Cloisters. It reminds me a lot of Florence. Good visuals, great soundtrack. It is very light on gameplay, so be warned. However, you’re not playing games like this for the gameplay… you’re playing for the story and experience. And it’s only $8, which is a steal for a game of this quality.
While A Memoir Blue was a short but interesting experience overall, the lack of more context in certain instances really hurts the game’s story and my engagement in it. I may be at wrong here, but just because a couple of lackluster scenes, the whole story felt a bit childish and forced. Like it seems the game doesn’t want to dig deeper into the more mature stuff cos its afraid to show something that may be inappropriate for some of the audience or sth!? idk. In short, the game needed more time to tell its story. But hopefully it has some really good scenes and messages to wash off its problems. I also really liked the hand drawn animation to tell the past events. Overall, it was a relaxing experience which could’ve been a lot better if the game had taken its time to give some parts of the story their reasonable context they needed.
